Mohs Micrographic Surgery

Mohs micrographic surgery is a simple yet elegant procedure.

It utilizes horizontal frozen section margins of skin tissue to provide a cancer free edge, which can then be reconstructed. The traditional vertical frozen section margins can miss cancerous fingers or roots that extend out between the vertical sections. Therefore Mohs micrographic surgery has the highest cure rates of any skin cancer surgery. The patients then can have reconstruction done with complex closures, local skin flaps, skin grafts or allowing the wound to heal on it’s own volition.
